ICPD Consultation in Geneva
GENEVA, 18-19 June 2018 – This meeting involved around 30 Parliamentarians from Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Arab World and Europe as well as experts on the politics of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in international decision-making, who participated in a cross-regional and dynamic two-day discussion.
This was an interactive dialogue, where all participants exchanged thoughts and ideas on how to improve the politics of SRHR. It included a quiz on sexist laws around the world and a game to spread awareness about the power of privilege (or indeed, lack thereof.)
Several representatives from UNFPA co-chaired the meeting, alongside EPF Secretary Neil Datta. The two intensive days ended on a high note that despite the evident ongoing issues in the domain of SRHR, such international collaboration and the determination which was shown from representatives from across the globe certainly provide hope that progress is in the pipeline.
